On Monday, March 10, 2025, one of the French military officials confirmed that more than 30 nations met in Paris to make a plan about international security force for Ukraine.

The basic aim of this force is to stop Russia from further disaster or launching another attack in Ukraine, especially if a ceasefire is reached. Several Asian and Oceania nations became the part of this meeting and joined remotely.

All of these efforts are being done under the leadership of France and Britain. Both of these countries are hoping to create a ‌ strong coalition of nations that are “able and willing” to support Ukraine’s security. Participation across the globe in this meeting highlights ‌rising global interest in ending the war and stablizing Ukraine.

The central focus of the discussion related to planning the structure, responsibilities, and deployment of the force. While deep details are being finalized. France and Britain want great support from military officials to make the security force effective.

However, the outcomes of these discussions could shape the defense strategy of Ukraine. It will also decide the future of international military cooperation, ensuring ‌long-term stability in the region. The meeting is important, particularly to prevent ‌future conflicts.

France and Britain have made secret plan to help Ukraine against Russia. One of the French military officials spoke anonymously to The Associated Press about this secret plan. It includes ‌immediately sending ‌heavy weapons and stockpiles to Ukraine if fighting continues. These weapons will ensure ‌rapid defense support.

On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the French-Britain strategy shared with military officials of more than 30 nations. The first part included the introduction about the plan while the next part related to the detailed discussions where officials presented their opinion about how their military will assist.

The purpose is to support Ukraine and strengthen its defenses while deterring Russia from launching another large-scale offensive. If the truce is broken, then Ukraine will respond quickly with available weapons resources. This collaborative work between France, Britain and other nations highlights the global efforts and strong commitments to assist Ukraine and maintain regional stability in Europe.

According to officials,

“It’s not, ‘This is what we need.” “It’s more, ‘What are you bringing to the pot?’”

However, despite ‌military officials, ‌government leaders will decide ‌which nations will become the part of the security force. Army chiefs or their representatives from almost 32 nation participated in the Paris meeting, excluding the United States.

The US did not join the meeting because European leaders want to move independently and show that they can take a leading role in Ukraine’s security matters. This step is important for European nations to prove their independence in handling security matters.

Without the US participation, the meeting arrangement highlights that European nations seek to express their capability and dedication to protecting Ukraine from Russian military attacks. This action underscores their readiness to take responsibility for Ukraine’s stability and defense, rather than rely solely on American support.

Although the US is still an important NATO ally, Europe seeks to establish a more robust regional defense system, demonstrating its capacity for greater responsibility in military operations.

Several European nations, not members of NATO, Ireland, Cyprus, and Austria attended the meeting. Their presence in the discussion reflects the EU’s interest in security matters.

Furthermore, officials from  Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea joined the talks remotely. These countries are also not NATO members. All of them are key allies with strategic ties to Western countries. Their involvement highlights global concerns over security and defense cooperation. So, many NATO and non-NATO members gathered on a single platform to address shared threats.

A military representative who is also a member of Ukraine’s security and defense council attended from the country. The attendance underscores the current security issues of Ukraine and its close cooperation with NATO and allied nations.

Military aid, defense strategies, and cooperation among countries in the face of security threats

was the central focus of the meeting.
