Analyzing the new approach to bringing peace to the Middle East

In September, Israel carried out an attack against Hamas and Hezbollah and killed their leaders. Every nation thinks that these attacks make Israel stronger. However, these actions did not remove the threat from either group. On October 1, Iran targeted Israel and launched a missile attack on it. This incident took the lives of 8 Israeli soldiers and 4 civilians. Despite suffering losses in Gaza, Hamas had the power to destroy an Israeli tank. This action by Hamas caused more injuries. Now, how Israel will take ‌revenge from Iran depends upon ‌the United States and its President Joe Biden. It is also a fact that sometimes, Netanyahu ignores the suggestion of Joe Biden, because he told Israel not to target Iranian nuclear sites. It seems like, in the case of Iran issues, Israel will not listen to the United States. However, ‌Israel’s military also knows the risks and may be careful in how they respond to this recent event. This is because Iran is much more powerful than Hamas and Hezbollah.

President Biden needs to change his strategy about how he works with Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It is the only way that could stop Israel’s harsh actions on Palestine. So, there is a better way forward if Biden is ready to try.

A ceasefire in Gaza and swapping detained Israelis and Palestinians could lessen the violence and bring peace across the world. This plan also brings in other regions, such as Lebanon and Iran that have become part of this conflict. Biden has already shown he supports this idea, which the international community backs through UN Security Council resolution #2735, passed in June.

By selecting this strategy, Biden can bring peace and prove his commitment to human rights and fairness for everyone. This can also improve the relationship of the United States with the Middle East.

The ceasefire agreement not only brings peace to Gaza but quickly stops attacks from Lebanon. It permits people in both Lebanon and Israel to go home securely. It would prevent the upcoming larger conflict between Iran and Israel. Joe Biden’s administration has not been very tough on Netanyahu’s government. Israel is the nation that has misled the US about its action in Gaza.

Experts, including American officials and retired Israeli generals, agree that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) cannot defeat Hamas, Hezbollah, or Iran. While Israel can invade Lebanon and target leaders, these actions often lead to more violence. After each assassination, a more aggressive leader usually takes their place. This ongoing cycle suggests that military actions are not the solution and may worsen the situation. A diplomatic approach is needed to address the deeper issues causing the conflict and to promote lasting peace in the region.

Many Israelis want to stop the war, but Benjamin Netanyahu does not. He seems to continue the war without any clarity about the future. There are many offers of a ceasefire that Israel has rejected. For example, Activist Gershon Baskin has proposed a three-week plan in which Hamas would release all hostages. But Israel refused to accept‌ it.

The US has also failed to agree with Israel on stopping the war. However, continuing the attack on Hamas is not the solution to the ongoing conflict. Israel must shift its attention from military solutions to political ones. Heavy military strikes can only give limited results. As long as there are unresolved issues and grievances, the conflict will continue, and the enemy will remain. To find lasting peace, Israel must address these underlying problems rather than rely solely on force.

To stop the war, it is important to listen to those who feel wronged. Right now, Gaza is the central focus of both Lebanon and Iran. While Palestinians want to end the war and want to live independently. Without solving these complexities, Israel will remain in danger. The only way to move forward is to end ‌Israeli occupation and permit Palestine to live freely next to a safe Israel. This can only happen if the United States takes serious steps. Only then can both sides live without fear.
